What is the J-Factor?

The J-Factor is an initiative established by a group of individuals with a passion for talent and a strong desire to mentor and facilitate change in the lives of young people in the community.

In September 2007, the very successful inaugural edition, modelled after ITV's widely acclaimed “X-Factor” singing talent competition, was held at the Jesus House Center with over 800 people in attendance.

The first edition of the show raised over £3,000 in revenues for charity. The first prize winner, Nwando Okeke, won a fully sponsored expedition to Chicago, USA where she worked with a renowned executive record producer, Morris ‘Butch’ Stewart, having produced for the Oprah Winfrey show, Tom Joyner Morning Show, Coke commercials, McDonald’s commercials and a host of leading music artists.

This experience allowed Nwando record her debut single titled “Run to you” courtesy of J-Factor, and distribution of her single has already begun in tandem with the advertising launch of the J-Factor 2008 edition. She's currently touring several influential community centres in the UK, allowing J-Factor to further encourage young adults to use their talents.

Last year, the show generated interests from a wide range of financial and non-financial sponsors, including the office of the City of London, inviting J-Factor finalists to participate in the London Week of Peace 2007 concert. This year the City of London and UCB (United Christian Broadcasters) are partnering with J-Factor to produce and deliver the entire show as part of the London Week of Peace, which is testament to the quality and commitment demonstrated by the team and finalists in the previous year.

Anywayz, unfortunately...you have missed the show. Next year. So keep in touch with the website, if it interests you at all. gtg
